Biography and Artist Statement

Born in Vancouver and growing up in Burnaby I chose beautiful Langley to set my roots.

 I am often asked “how long have you been an artist?” Looking back, my answer would be “always.”  I still recall the anticipation of receiving refills for my crayon box on birthdays and the excitement of a special new color. The joy of discovery and to create has filled my life and still presents new and exciting challenges.

 Being a self taught artist, my interests included paper making, drawing and photography. Painting for many years in oils, I discovered the wonderful world of watercolor and recently, the mystery of pastels which have become my chosen mediums. My favorite subjects are still life and portraits.

Creating one of a kind art figures became another wonderful learning experience. I was able to combine my love for human expression and form into 3-dimensional sculptured characters. What fun to see these little people “come alive.”
