BIOGRAPHY As
someone who has always been attracted to the visual arts, as well as
a collector of art, in 1999 it finally became my time to pick up a paint
brush and begin to paint. Since then, in self-directed studies, painting has become my passion—a joyful problem solving journey exploring the wonders of oil paint on canvas using brush, palette knife, and often my fingers. I vary my palette, but frequently return to earth hues.
My many years of working in a microbiology laboratory honed my skills of observation and curiosity, and the subtleties of colour, while living on a farm in the beautiful Fraser Valley has increased my awareness of light, atmosphere, and the seasonal fluctuations of Mother Nature.
I was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, but moved to Aldergrove, British Columbia when I was eight years old. Over the years, I have traveled the world and all the provinces of Canada. My life is shared with my husband and son, a big loveable dog (Axel portrait below), and a garden that is getting out of control.
